ISKF UAE April 2025 Belt Exam
On April 20th 2025, we carried out our April belt test at Power Four Karate Academy in Dubai.
All our testing students gave their best, showcasing a great passion and fantastic skills.

Infinite Combat Belt Test
On March 22nd 2025, we conducted a belt testing for the students of Infinite Combat Academy in Dubai.

2025 Shitokai Dojo Duels
On March 16th 2025, we participated in the Dojo Duels organized by Shitokai Karatedo Society tournament in Rashidiya Girls School in Dubai.
Our participation was small, due to the elligible age and rank, but our students gave fantastic performances with great results.
Congratulations to all for the effort and for the wins.

2nd ISKC-JKA Shotokan Friendship Game 2025
On February 23rd 2025, we participated in the 2nd ISKC-JKA Shotokan Friendship Game 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
It was a great event, where the bonds with our fellow Shotokan friends were strengthened, and our representatives carried the ISKF name with pride.
Congratulations to our winners. Putting yourselves out there, for others to watch and judge you, awards not only medals but personal growth.

2025 JKA Gasshuko Training
On February 22nd 2025, we had the pleasure of attending the 2025 JKA Gasshuko Training, headlined by Shihan Tatsuya Naka and Shihan Koichiro Okuma in Abu Dhabi.
It was such a privilege, training under the direction of these two masters.
We are always grateful to our friends from JKA UAE for the continued collaboration and fellowship.
ISKF UAE February 2025 Belt Exam
On February 16th 2025, we carried out our February belt exam at Fitness First Oasis Center, Dubai.
Great effort from everyone, specially our white belts, who did an amazing job showcasing their talent on their first exam ever. Also, our intermediate/advanced students proved once more that effort and commitment give great rewards.

1st ISKF UAE Beach Training 2025
On February 9th 2025, we gathered at Jebel Ali Beach in Dubai for an outdoors training.
The session included karate training and a few games, making this a fun memorable experience for everyone.
Our students had the chance to experience training on a different surface, which adds a new challenge when performing techniques on the sand.
Big thanks to everyone for the effort and looking forward to our next outdoors training. Oss!
1st ISKF Dubai Cup 2025
On January 19th 2025, we had the 1st ISKF Dubai Cup at Sunmarke School in Dubai.
While the world focuses on sports karate, we stay close to our roots.Â
We gathered to celebrate our pride as traditional karatekas and to share the art that we love, bonding with our fellow ISKF UAE members.
A traditional competition is an extension of training, where new elements like pressure from the audience comes to play and you face new opponents outside your usual dojo colleagues.
It was indeed a great start of the year. Let’s continue making 2025 a memorable one. Oss!
ISKF UAE January 2025 Belt Exam
On January 12th 2025, we had the first belt exam of the year.

As the end of 2024 approaches, we reflect on all the experiences we’ve shared with our ISKF UAE family this year. We have grown together and became not only better karatekas but better human beings.
Stepping into 2025 with strength, focus, and determination. Wishing all our karate family and friends a year filled with growth, resilience, and new achievements. 2024 End of the Year Party
On December 21st 2024, we gathered to celebrate the end of the year Holidays with our ISKF UAE family.
We played games, exchanged gifts, sang karaoke songs and had a great time alltogether.

We had an impressive amount of participants from different branches and levels testing for their next rank.

ISKF GCC Goodwill Tournament Participant Appreciation
On November 16th 2024, we held a joint training session in which we took a moment to appreciate the great effort of our ISKF UAE participants at the ISKF GCC Goodwill Tournament 2024.
In the words of our Master Teruyuki Okazaki: “Competition in a growing experience. You learn better timing with your techniques, you have the opportunity to learn how to read the action of an unkown opponent, you learn to adapt to the competition environment which is very different than the dojo and you learn how to handle the pressure and face fear”.

ISKF UAE Goodwill Tournament 2024
On November 9th 2024, ISKF UAE hosted a Goodwill Tournament that received participants from several organizations and international visitors.
We had the pleasure to welcome sensei Joji Mercado from the ISKF HQ Technical Commitee coming from the USA, sensei Farid AlShuhaibi, country director of ISKF Oman, sensei Rommel Raymundo from the ISKF Philippines.
The participation was open to several other Shotokan organizations like JKA or SKIF and we welcomed as well other karate styles like Shito-Ryu, Wado-Ryu or Goju-Ryu.
It was a successful event, where the passion for karate was shared and bonds with our fellow karatekas both in the UAE and abroad were made stronger.
ISKF UAE Gasshukku 2024
On November 8th 2024, we had the pleasure to host the 1st ISKF UAE Gashukku lead by sensei Joji Mercado from the ISKF HQ Technical Committee, who travelled all the way from the USA. We were as well pleased to have the presence of sensei Farid AlShuhaibi, country director of ISKF Oman.
The Gasshukku received participants from the UAE, Oman and Kuwait.
Sensei Joji delivered a impeccable training session, which not only transmitted knowledge but also inspired the participants to continue pursuing their karate journey.
It was a great experience having a guest from our Headquarters, making us feel a bit closer to our masters regardless the actual distance.
The Global Filipino Magazine
The Global Filipino Magazine made a piece on our ISKF Goodwill Tournament 2024!
We are thankful to them for having provided the ISKF such great exposure.
ISKF UAE Special Joint Training
On November 3rd, 2024, we got together for a special joint training in preparation for our upcoming tournament.
As part of the training, we conducted a friendly flag system competiton, which was enjoyed by all.
UAE Traditional Karate Inter-Ogranizations Workshops
The ISKF UAE initiated a series of collaborative workshops with other traditional karate organizations based in the UAE. This was done with the aim of promoting fellowship and camaraderie amogst traditional karatekas in the country.
These sessions had participants from Shotokan organizations like ISKF, JKA, SKIF and other styles like Shito-Ryu and Wado-Ryu.
These sessions streched over several months of 2024 and were hosted by few of the participant organizations, giving us the chance to welcome each other into our dojos and our respective karate families.
We shared knowledge and stengthened the bonds between the traditional karate practizioners in the United Arab Emirates.
ISKF UAE October 2024 Belt Exam
On October 19th 2024, we conducted our October belt exam at Sunmarke School, JVT, Dubai.
We had students testing for their yellow, orange, green and purple belt and everybody gave their best effort.

FF Oasis Mall Anniversary Karate Demonstration
On September 26th 2024, we performed a karate demonstration as part of the anniversary celebrations of Fitness First Oasis Mall in Dubai, branch leaded by sensei Edgardo Zafra, ISKF UAE President.
The kihon alongside with kata and personal defense techniques performed wowed the expectators present at the event.
ISKF UAE September 2024 Belt Exam
On September 15th 2024, we conducted our September belt exam at Sunmarke School, JVT, Dubai.
We had a good range of students testing from yellow to brown 2.
Everybody gave their best. Well done!
FF Ibn Battuta Mall Karate Demonstration
On August 26th, 2024 we carried out a karate demonstraton at Fitness First Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai. A new branch leaded by sensei Edgardo Zafra, ISKF UAE President.

ISKF South Africa Visit
We had the pleasure to be visited by sensei Rodney and sensei Vijay from ISKF South Africa on July 29th, 2024.
It was great getting to know them and having the chance to train with fellow ISKF karatekas.

ISKF UAE 2024 OFFICERS Announcement
Dear ISKF UAE members and branches, we are pleased to inform you that we have elected our new ISKF UAE Officers.
Visiting the ISKF Headquarters in Philadelphia, USA
We were informed during the Master Camp that the location of the Headquarters of the ISKF in Philadelphia would have to be relocated after 60 years. This was the original dojo were our founder Teruyuki Okazaki started teaching karate in the USA.
We didn’t want to miss the oportunity to see our original dojo in person, so we took the chance to visit the location after our time in the ISKF Master Camp.
ISKF Master Camp 2024
The ISKF UAE sent a party to Philadelphia, USA in June to join the Master Camp for several days.
During those days that were fully commited to karate, we were able to train with the members of the Headquarters Technical Commitee, guest sensei who travelled all the way from Japan, fellow karatekas from many nations and Shihan Okazaki himself.
This allowed us to refresh and update our knowledge, so it can be brought back to the UAE and to our students here. We also created new bonds and reinforced the existing ones with members of the ISKF and its leaders.
FF Oasis Mall Karate Demonstration
We performed a karate demonstraton on June 1st, 2024 at Fitness First Oasis Mall, Dubai with the aim of promoting our art and the new start of a new branch.

On April 13th, our ISKF UAE representatives competed at the 5th ABR Karate Cup 2024 in San Jose Del Monte in the Philippines.

JKA Gasshukku Training Camp 2024
The ISKF UAE joined the JKA Gasshukku Training Camp 2024 on March 27th, 2024. The Gasshukku was lead by Shihan Koichiro Okuma.

Karate Demonstration at Atrixion Dubai
We offered a karate demonstration on December 24th, 2023 at Atrixion Dubai, a mixed martial arts center.
We showcased advanced kihon as well as kata.
ISKF UAE Christmas Party 2023
On December 17th, 2023, we had our ISKF UAE Christmas Party at PowerFour Sports and Fitness Center.
The celebration was open to members of all faiths and it was a great fun time full of games and laughter.
Bushido Cup 2023
The ISKF UAE joined the Bushido Cup 2023 in Abu Dhabi on December 10th, 2023.

ISKF – JKA Workshop
The UAE ISKF and JKA got together for a series of workshops throughout the month of September 2023.
During those sessions we trained together and shared knowledge of our common art, the Shotokan karate.
ISKF Master Camp 2023
The ISKF UAE joined the ISKF Master Camp in Camp Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA in the month of June.
The party attended training with the members of the technical commitee and guest sensei and participated in the Dan examinations.

On February 4th, 2023, the ISKF UAE was invited to participate in the JKA Dubai Gasshukku Training Camp 2023.
The Gasshukku was lead by Shihan Koichiro Okuma.
42nd Annual ISKF US Nationals & International Goodwill Karate Championships, 2022
Representatives of the ISKF UAE travelled to Philadelphia, USA, to join the 42nd Annual ISKF US Nationals & International Goodwill Karate Championships, 2022.
It was a great experience, bonding with our fellow ISKF members and getting to compete with karatekas from several nations.
